Issue 08: Frames
Fall 2024How do you look back on your cherished times, hardships and successes, your everyday routine, and notable moments? Is there a song or album that takes you back to a specific drive to school or home from work? Does your camera roll reveal forgotten moments of your summer? Does a beautiful photo, taken amidst the chaos of daily life help you romanticize your experiences?
The idea for this issue emerged as we found ourselves in different cities over the summer. Our shared videos during discussions became significant frames of our everyday lives during that time apart. In Issue 08: Frames, we asked students and alumni to explore the myriad ways we document and remember our lived experiences. We each capture moments we want to hold onto, and how we choose to frame these memories influences how we recall them in the future. I codesigned the publication and animated the graphics for social media posts.

WorkshopWe hosted a picnic workshop for attendees to create artworks and writings for the publication. Prompts were provided to guide the attendees back to their summer and how they want to frame these memories.
Release EventThe release party was an event composed of three sections—the publications displayed on a 6 ft shelf built by Matt Demas, a section for attendees to create keychains with images from the publication, and a projection of the video submissions edited by Elliana Lee and Nick Rheem.
